ZREALITY on a visit to the fair

Artificial intelligence (AI) and learning systems will penetrate all areas of everyday life and grow in development and application. Rhineland-Palatinate can help shape this development and drive this change: The potential in the country is great!

Last weekend we from ZREALITY were at the future fair for medium-sized businesses and start-ups (ZIRP – Zukunftsinitiative Rheinland-Pfalz) “rlp_networked: Erlebnis KI”. On a total of three days, visitors could get to know and experience the wealth of AI applications and research in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Fraunhofer IESE was the venue and official cooperation partner and helped shape the program with exciting impulses. We, the ZREALITY team, consisting of Alexander Fridhi, Prof. Dr. Peter Gentsch and Prof. Dr. Matthias Pfaff, were also on the Sounding Board as cooperation partners.

During the days of the event we showed the visitors a prototype application together with Pfalzwerke AG. We demonstrated how the HoloLens can scan and retrieve information from control cabinets and make it available to the user in the visible area. This application is used, for example, by electrical fitters who work on control cabinets and require operating information. Our application was presented to the State Secretary Heike Raab, the Member of the State Parliament Daniel Schäffner and the Member of the Board of Pfalzwerke Dr. Werner Hitschler.

On Friday Matthias Pfaff gave a lecture together with ZDF digital on the topic “Through future technologies into the past – how VR makes the dream of time travel possible” and presented our tourism solution for cities, regions and museums “Urban Timetravel – time travel in virtual reality”. Our COO Michael Neidhöfer also gave a lecture on “VR first? How Virtual Reality will change marketing in companies”. At the same time, Helge Zurbrüggen gave the audience input on the topic “From technology to a successful business model – the Digital Transformation Hub in Kaiserslautern as an ecosystem for technology startups”.

In addition, the pitches of the Startup Westpfalz e.V. competition took place on Friday from 3.30 p.m. with exciting presentations by newly founded companies. Of all ideas received, 10 startups were invited. They were allowed to present their founding idea to a jury, here too we were represented by Helge Zurbrüggen and Michael Neidhöfer. They had 3 minutes for their pitch. The four best will compete again at the Startup Summit Südpfalz, which will take place next Saturday. Here both the spectators and a jury will select the best pitch. The prize money is 10,000 euros. Our recommendation: Come and join us!
